My students love to come to school everyday. They are excited about learning new things. My students are curious, imaginative, creative, risk takers, and problem solvers. Our school is in a great community that is very involved in the lives of the students. Our teachers work very hard to make sure the students have interesting, engaging lessons. Everyone in my building truly cares about the lives of our students. Everyday is a new, exciting day, and I love spending each one with my class.
Having a central meeting space in an early childhood classroom is very important. Students feel comfort in knowing they have a space that is their own. A rug helps to organize and define this meeting area in the classroom. Rugs provide a friendly environment where a whole class or small groups can sit and communicate with each other. A large rug will allow each student in the class their own spot. A large class will not fit on a smaller rug, making some children left to sit on the outside of the group. Also, this organized area is great for grouping students: by table groups or partners.
