My Students

I co-teach in an integrated first grade classroom in a low income school. We have 20 great students in our first grade classroom who are eager to learn. Our students have many different needs that really keep us busy. I wish we could bottle their energy and enthusiasm.

Our students have a wide range of abilities and needs.

We work hard to give the students the individual attention they need and deserve.

We notice that once the students become more secure in their learning the more responsibility they are given to help make them more active in their learning. It is so rewarding to see students follow the classroom routine and have strategies to help regulate their bodies so they can learn independently.

My Project

In our integrated first grade classroom we have many students who have lots of energy and have difficulty staying in one spot on the classroom rug. We also have many students who need to have boundaries and have personal space.

Having a place for everyone and everyone in their place with a Play & Learn Nature Activity Carpet will give everyone a safe place to sit.

Having a Play & Learn Nature Activity Carpet would make working on the rug a lot easier for each students need, letting the students in our class be attentive to the lesson being taught instead of who is sitting near them.
