My Students

I am a 7th and 8th-grade middle school social studies teacher at an inner-city school that facilitates K-8th grade. My 7th and 8th-grade students are pleasant, funny, and full of potential.

Despite the socioeconomic, and demographic challenges they face, they come to school every day ready to learn.

Working with this group of scholars confirms daily my desire to be in the classroom. Each day they show up motivated and ready to work. I strive to build meaningful relationships with all of my scholars as I believe this helps in their education.

My Project

Here at my school, we are trying to find ways to engage all of our scholars and reach them by exploring their interest. I am blessed to work with so many talented students, not only in academics, or sports, but in the arts as well. Many of my students enjoy dancing, writing, and painting.

This year I want to provide one of our artists with the opportunity to have their artwork displayed at our school for years to come.

We will allow all interested 8th grade students to enter a sketch to have their painting selected as the class painting, that will hang in our foyer.

We would like to award the winner with art supplies to complete the final painting and have to continue their passion. Thank you in advance for your support!
