My Pre-K students with speech and language delays need visual supports throughout the day to promote learning new concepts.
I teach special education preschool on a general education elementary school campus in a large urban school district in California.
I have two classes each day with a total of 21 students. Their disabilities include autism, language and speech impairment, attention deficits, developmental delays and intellectual impairment. Although they have challenges, they strive to learn, interact and explore. Each day they come to school looking forward to new and exciting learning activities.
My Project
The printer and ink supply I am requesting will provide my students with the visual supports they need to fully participate in classroom activities. I will use the printer and ink cartridges along with computer images, our digital camera and our class laminator. I will be able to customize visual schedules, create posters, and make picture cards that will promote learning.
Students with disabilities need individualized accommodations and modifications to the general education curriculum.
The printer and ink supply I am requesting will allow me to personalize cards and posters with pictures of my students and materials we will be using in class. These items will provide the motivation my students need to become excited about learning!
