Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to VPK. The place where you make friends, learn social skills and take the first step into formal education. We learn from our mistakes and celebrate accomplishments. We work together and build a school family.
Many of our students have never been in school and have never interacted with a large group of friends.
Others are excelling at a faster pace and already recognize letters and their sounds. They are all unique and learn in vastly different ways. To make a classroom successful, you need the tools to give every child the opportunity to succeed.
My Project
Art is a huge part of my everyday classroom. Coloring, cutting, gluing, and creating little masterpieces is how my students express themselves and show their creativity. Since we are still learning to write, we use other mediums to declare our thoughts.
Paint is a huge part of that process!
It allows my students to show ideas and practice writing letters, words, and numbers in a new medium. Many lessons completed in the classroom involve using our hands to make something we are proud of. The happy and bright environment in our classroom is achieved because of our students work in the classroom, allowing them to feel a connection to the room and having a feeling of ownership in where they come to school. School is fun because of the work we do and these supplies are necessary to continue.
