Our students range from third grade to 21 years old.
The students come from all walks of life. Some come from disadvantaged homes. Some are mentally or behaviorally challenged. Some students are physically handicapped.
It is our goal to prepare them for the world and give them a fun and safe learning environment while doing so. I aim to teach them techniques using various materials, and show them practical application to aid their everyday lives.
My Project
Our students are going to learn how to create a yearbook. This unit lesson will begin with ground work of budgeting and planning to learning how to use Adobe photoshop suite.
The students will use their math skills to create a budget for our yearbook and art for the design aspect.
This will include coming up with a list of expenses and a final amount of what each yearbook should cost.
They will use their creativity with photo by taking photos, editing and putting the pages of the yearbook together.
Visual Art will be integrated with technology through the use of digital cameras, exploring the ways in which to take photographs and the creative ways to lay out the pages of our yearbook.
Our students will benefit from learning how to finance a project. They will also learn and explore the program adobe photoshop and how to use a digital camera. The students will have the opportunity to be involved in the creation of their yearbook. They will interact with staff and students for photo taking and gathering ideas to make their yearbook memorable and meaningful to them.
