My students need a camcorder and tripod to record lessons and work process. We also need a small white board for small group instruction.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
One of the biggest concerns I hear from parents is that they can not help their scholar because they do not understand what is being taught. Our parents are eager to help their children but they lack the tools to do so. Furthermore, many students need a refresher in order to complete homework.
My 7th graders range from new comers to children who have been in the country a maximum of three years.
They live in a high poverty high crime area. Budget cuts have left our classroom with great need. Many items necessary to facilitate instruction to a variety of learning styles are out of our reach.
My Project
Parents often struggle to keep up with changes in education. The material taught in our schools today do not resemble what they learned. I often talk to frustrated parents who do not have adequate resources to help their students. With a camcorder I will be able to record my lessons and but them on our class website. We will also be able to record successful student work process. The goal is to help parents and students successfully complete assignments at home.
I am also asking for a portable whiteboard that will be used in small group instruction. I need a surface where I can write and students can see what I am doing as I explain my thought process.
Your gift will allow my student and their parents to review as many times as needed.
It will bring parents and their children closer together and improve school - home communication.
