Teaching Kindergarten is one of the most rewarding positions as a teacher. I have taught other grades, and this is by far my favorite. My students LOVE coming to school every day, knowing I am there waiting for them to walk through the doors. They are eager to learn, full of enthusiasm, and can't wait to tell me stories of what they did last night, over the weekend, or even something that happened to them before school!
I teach in a Title I school where many of my students receive a free or reduced-price lunch.
The entire school gets free breakfast every day. My class takes advantage of this and eats breakfast if they are hungry. My students are proud of the learners they are becoming, and I couldn't be more proud of them.
My Project
My students need supplies to show their creativity. Art education is very important at a young age. During our centers, art is a popular choice amongst the children. They are developing critical thinking and problem solving skills. The paint, paintbrushes, stamps will be given as options when they enter the Art Center.
Art helps boost self-esteem.
When students hold a paintbrush, their fine motor skills improve. Children who feel able to experiment and to make mistakes feel free to invent new ways of thinking, which extends well beyond the craft room. Children have their own thoughts and ideas of how things should look and they come to art with their own unique experiences.
