My Students
I have the opportunity to work with great students every day. My students encounter several trials and tribulations. Some of the challenges my students face are financial. While separate students are faced growing up in foster care, or single-family homes. All in all, my students do not make excuses and show up on most days with an enthusiastic attitude and eagerness to work.
There is a motto, "give a man a fish he will eat for a day teach a man to fish he will eat for a lifetime." Please help me prepare my students to fish by providing us important vehicles to navigate these choppy waters while we fish.
My Project
Students will be able to make designs from home that I can print out so we can develop an inventory. My students run an SBE student-based enterprise.
SBE can provide students with their first work experience, as well as, opportunities to learn key career and social skills (Gugerty, Foley, Frank, & Olson, 2008).
SBE can include career awareness, career exploration, and career preparation concepts. Some of the things we do are Decals for shirts, chairs, cups, and other items. We have made buttons for students running for prom king and queen, we have made shirts for staff, and have even printed obituaries for community members.
