This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kindergarten students come from a tight-knit, low-income community in the city of Chicago. They are excited to be starting a new year and to make incredible progress this year.
Each of my students is uniquely talented, counting on school to provide a place to let those talents shine.
Kindergarten establishes a strong foundation for students in school, both academically and socially. This group is focused on building a supportive classroom community and working together to help one another succeed.
My Project
It's that time of year: we're running low on paper. In kindergarten, we are building our stamina for working together and independently, but we still like to switch activities often throughout the day. That means we are using lots of paper.
We need white copy paper for worksheets to use in class and for homework to make sure students can practice what we are learning at the end of each day.
Colored paper will help to make game boards and flashcards that are color-coded for students based on their level. This makes independent work much easier for students to manage on their own!
Please help us continue the great work we have been doing this year with a fresh supply of paper. We will be sure to use it to practice our skills and show our learning.
