Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from a low-income/high-poverty school district located in the Bronx. They are curious, bright eyed, amazing little ones who will fill your heart with hope. They are eager to learn, explore and collaborate with one another as they make daily discoveries about the world around them.
My students face different challenges both in and out of the classroom; many of these amazing little explorers are in school for the first time and two-thirds are English language learners.
In spite of various challenges, the classroom is a safe haven where these exceptional children can thrive!
I hope to provide my students with resources and materials that will make learning truly come alive for them! With access to the right tools and support, they will have memorable learning experiences, which they will be more likely to internalize. All donations will go a long way, and are appreciated more than I could begin to describe.
My Project
My pre-K explorers absolutely love to paint and express themselves through hands-on visual representations! They are so creative, and are quickly developing the fine motor skills necessary to become amazing writers and illustrators! A 3-way painting easel will enable my students to have more opportunities to paint, and will give them more time to express themselves creatively.
Currently, only one student can paint at a time because only one side of our classroom art easel is fully functional; I can only imagine how much more excitement a 3-station easel will bring to their classroom experience!
My students are so excited when it's their turn to paint and as emerging readers and writers, they are responding to stories and literature through the visual arts! A 3-station art easel is just the resource needed to bring their school experiences to the next level! All donations will go a long way and are appreciated more than words can say!
