My Project

I work with students with disabilities including autism. I teach third through eighth grade students in East Harlem. Our students are hard-working, curious, and resilient group of students.

All of my students work extremely hard to overcome the many social, sensory, and academic obstacles they face.

Every day, they face the many challenges of navigating the school environment-- especially noisy spaces. Although difficult, many are able to use their coping tools to thrive and excel. We would like to help them manage anxiety inducing noise by providing headphones that can help reduce noise when they want a quiet space or when they are working.
