it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A New Year for creating Independent Functional Learners
In my diverse learning classroom, we make learning fun!
My students are very active and energetic, that’s why it’s important that I engage them with motivational hands-on engaging resources. I also implement real world scenarios and critical thinking questioning to aid in building on their cognitive skills.
I teach at a Title 1 school where my students have barriers they are faced with daily! Most of our students receive free of reduced lunch. They are from low income families that were heavily affected by Hurricane Harvey and to this day still trying to recover. I want to provide them with fun and engaging resources to aid in their overall functional development and learning needs. Many of my students are also from single parent homes or from a parent working two or more jobs to make ends meet. They have limited finances, education, and time to meet the diverse educational needs of their child.
My students are very excited about learning! Our special needs classroom consists of students with disabilities in academics, communication, behavior, social and emotional skills.
My Project
My students are special needs students that functions below grade level. My students will benefit from educational resources and equipment to aid in their overall needs socially and academically. In reading the Small-Group Nonfiction Comprehension Folders - Gr. 1-2 will aid in the student's comprehension and cognitive skills.
The students will also benefit from the hands-on Math Folder Game Libraries - K-Gr.
1 - Complete Set resources to aid in their math calculations.
They will also benefit from the STEM Science Stations - K-Gr. 1 science resources to connect with real world scenarios to aid in their critical thinking, while creating a classroom filled with little Albert Ernestine’s!
The use of the Learn & Store Chart Stand and Literacy Centers Management Chart will help in creating the structure, organization, and routines needed in the special education classroom setting. This will also allow the students the motivation needed to become independent thinkers and functional lifelong learners.
My diverse learners will benefit from a functional classroom environment enriched with resources and equipment that’s structured and supports their individual learning styles.
