I work with a great group of preschool students who come from varying ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our students come in every morning enthusiastic and ready to learn. They are a very energetic, talkative and fun-loving group who love to ask questions. Our school is located in a low income community. We strive to provide a safe learning environment for our students.
Hands-on learning is what our energetic students need to succeed.
We are trying to provide more of this learning style to prepare our students for higher grades to come. Our goal is to provide our students with a preschool learning experience that they will carry with them for years to come.
This year has brought some changes to our classroom dynamic! We are still able to service 19 students, but 10 will be in person and 9 will be virtual, with everyone being virtual on Fridays. To help prepare our students learning at home, we are trying to give them the supplies they need at home and in the classroom to still have fun while learning in this new preschool setting!
My Project
We are looking for new materials to use for our Dramatic Play area. We are unable to use most of the materials we have because they are made of wood or cloth and the students can't share them safely. These new materials will help our students explore some fantasy and dramatic play with materials that we can safely clean on a daily basis.
We all need some creativity in our lives!
The students will be able to play together with these materials. They can go on adventures to kingdoms and castles, explore a world under the sea, learn about community helpers and take a journey into prehistoric times. We can't wait to see how the students learn using these new materials!
