This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This captures what the students will do in my classroom.

The importance of engaging students through doing will forever impact their learning & retention. The easel & pocket chart encourage interaction!

The students in my classroom will be mostly second language learners coming to school with very little English language exposure.

Our school population is mostly Latino, ESL, low-income students that are thrilled to have the chance to learn. The students are active participants in a positive school environment that encourages all students to succeed and are held to a high level of standards.

My Project

We are getting ready to start a new school year and with that comes the need to resupply our consumables and update our play2learn stations. My students will benefit from water color paints, glue sticks, markers and clay when at the art center. I look forward to our classroom listening station being updated with new mp3 players and headphones. I can't wait for the students to get their hands on the 12" figures that will be added to the block center.

"Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning," Mr. Rogers.

The importance of pretend play helps build social and emotional skills, language skills, thinking skills and nurtures a child's imagination. Having the materials to create will encourage students to put their imagination into their art work.
