I have 70 wonderful 3rd graders. They are part of a new Mandarin-English Dual Language program in a public school. The students in my class are bright young minds who look forward to coming to school.
My students attend a public elementary Title 1 school in Southern California.
They are in a dual-immersion program where 1/2 the day they are learning to read, write and speak Mandarin. I teach 70 students in my dual immersion Mandarin classroom, where English speakers are immersed in the Mandarin language while learning their California standards based curriculum.
My Project
We need a new classroom rug as our current one is old and worn out. Rug time is an important part of our day, this new carpet would greatly improve our learning environment. It would create a structured area for students to sit and give them their own space. The colors will allow us to easily transition to and from the carpet. This carpet is a win-win-win for my students! Besides adding to the overall aesthetics of the classroom, and providing a wonderful, defined space on which to gather every day, students will be able to have a comfortable and clean environment to sit.
This donation will make a HUGE impact on my classroom.
This rug will give my students the opportunity to sit amongst their peers so that they are able to work together versus being stuck at their desk all day.
