My students are not only hungry, but they are hungry to learn and create on a daily basis. In our Title I school, all students receive free breakfast and lunch on a daily basis.
My students face many challenges; many are from single-family homes or from military families.
Many of my students' families can't afford basic school supplies for their children, such as pencils, paper, or even materials needed to complete classroom reports. Despite these challenges, they are eager and ready to learn.
My students have struggles at home and it is my job to make sure they are able to accomplish what they wish in school. One thing I would like to do this year is to provide my students with a classroom that serves as an escape from whatever they are dealing with outside of school, a space where they feel happy, safe, and loved.
I am so excited to request a 13" Mac Book Pro for classroom learning. Our young learners need visuals to better understand subject matter. They learn by watching, listening and interactive activities in the classroom. This Mac Book Pro would be used for daily instruction with software currently provided with our math program as well as websites and software to further skills in literacy and science. This Mac Book Pro will interface with our current iPads.
Living and teaching in an area where so many people give to so many things, I feel it is time to let others know of the needs in our classroom.
Current budget constraints do not allow for the funding of this project. The skills of our students would be greatly impacted because of your help. Let's put technology into the hands of our young learners!
