When children have control of a camera, they learn to look at the world just a little differently. I am a special education teacher. Our school resides in a high-needs community. Due to budget cuts I don't have enough resources to put the photography club together. The children have shown so much interest in this type of club which will be once a week, it will benefit all the students from K-5 that join the photography club.

Starting a photography club will help the students notice patterns where they didn't before, they will start to think about everyday objects with a fresh prospective, and they will develop their confidence in their own creativity.

We need a digital camera to start our photography club. Photography is essentially a means of not only documenting the past, but also communicating. Children learn to predict outcomes and actively participate in experiments.

With a digital camera, the results are close to instant and there is more room to explore. There are so many things the students can do such as, mystery photos, putting photos on t-shirts, making puzzles, going on trips, the school newspaper, and so many other projects. You can make it possible for our club to become a reality, and how your help will make a difference.
