My students need all new materials for preschool including puzzles, dry erase boards and a rug. This is a new classroom where the prior teacher took all of the learning materials with her and left us with nothing.
Out with the old and in with the new! Although this building is from the 1970s, our preschools need something to remind them that they are living in 2013! Children need resources in order to grow and learn and that's where this project comes in!
These special needs preschoolers are coming into a classroom that is currently empty.
With the beginning of this new program, we are starting at the bottom with no materials. We need to build up a classroom of learning tools for the children to use. We are the only school in the district that has not been remodeled and need to try extra hard to make the environment comfortable for the children. They are active kids who are ready to learn, but just need the right materials to fit their needs.
My Project
I have requested an assortment of items to start building our classroom like dry erase boards, a balance, a puzzle, a flannel board, markers, and a rug. The requested materials will help jump start our school year with songs, literacy, writing, and math! I want these children to be excited to walk into a room full of toys, color, and excitement. These resources will help provide that. Preschool is such an important stepping block in a child's life. These resources are necessary in order to provide the best learning experience for these kids. We will be able to use white boards to practice writing, flannel boards and puppets to bring stories to life with visuals, a scale for measuring objects in the science center, a math puzzle to count and a cozy rug to read on. All these materials serve an educational purpose and will help our children learn!
These students deserve hands-on materials that can help enhance their experiences while in the classroom.
