Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are always excited when they enter the classroom especially on lab days. They enjoy hands-on activities, working in small groups and being able to explore with their peers.
My goal is to provide my students with an engaging, fun and safe learning environment.
My school is located in a low social economic neighborhood where 95% of the students are on free or reduced lunch. Most of my students are faced with many challenges in the classroom and at home.
My Project
Not so long ago in a galaxy not so far away...It is a period of student engagement war. Rebel Robots, striking from a hidden classroom, have won their first victory against the Galactic Instructors.
During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plan’s to the Galactic Instructor’s ultimate weapon, the BORED to DEATH-star, a lesson plan full of worksheets with enough copies to destroy the entire classes creativity.
Pursued by the Empire’s Instructors, Princess Halford races to her classroom aboard her starship, custodian of the stolen plans that can save her students, restore engagement and freedom to the galaxy…
In the "words" of the opening scrawl of Star Wars: Episode IV- A New Hope shows an example of why technology is so important. Nobody wants to be "BORED to DEATH" especially in a classroom where students should be provided with many fun and engaging learning opportunities.
These Galaxy Tablets would help my students during STEM to code our Dash and Dot Robots, Spheros, and Curious Car Kits. Through the Google Play Store these tablets truly provide unlimited options for my students. They can use a variety of apps like Kahoot and Quizlet to review. Apps like Flip Grid helps give students a voice. Also apps like Toontastic 3D and Strip Creator would allow them to create digital stories about current studies.
