This year, I have started to teach students in a whole different capacity as the STEM cluster. I will work to incorporate the four disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math to bring STEM alive in our school. My students range from kindergarten through fifth grade, and I teach a variety of learners. My students are from diverse backgrounds, and my goal is that they all have access to projects and activities that support their needs. From students with special needs in our Autistic Horizon classes or ICT students to our more independent learners, all students have access to STEM-related activities at all levels when they visit me. My students are excited each day and enjoy a positive project-based learning experience when they visit my class!
I look forward to listening to the buzzing and chatting in my classroom as students try new strategies, share ideas and work as a team to become problem solvers.
I am thrilled when my young learners experience something new or try something they never did before. Each day brings new and exciting adventures for all my young learners in our STEM classroom!
My Project
Bristlebots are simple new robotics projects that use a tooth-brush head and micromotors. These kits were developed to be used as a simple educational tool to quickly engage young students in STEM!
I know this robotics activity will engage my advanced learners and also allow for a collaborative Project Based Activities for my younger students.
These kits will allow my students to learn and apply simple robotics ideas as well as use the design and engineering process to test and improve their models. In addition, they will be able to create a robot as unique as they are! I can't wait to see the results!
