My school is made up of a racially, economically, linguistically, and culturally diverse group of middle school students who are passionate about using technology in the classroom and eager to have teachers who integrate technology effectively into their instruction.
Although my school is historically low-performing, the administration, staff, and students are committed to changing perceptions, breaking barriers, fostering growth, and achieving our goals.
With your help, we can continue our growth by fostering a professional environment of collaboration and learning in which teachers master the technological tools and strategies needed to help our students be successful.
Part of our technology plan involves a re-branding of our school, which involves redesigning the school website, creating new logos, creating promotional videos and videos for social media, and more. As a school, we are moving in a new direction and want to share our successes and vision with our community.
These tasks are pushing some of our current technology to the limits, but with a powerful laptop, our re-branding efforts will be a success.
With a new laptop, students will be able to do video and graphic editing, 3-D modeling, and prepare projects for 3-D printing. Our existing Chromebooks are great, but they simply cannot handle demanding tasks and cannot run the necessary software for our 3-D printers. The docking station will add to its versatility by allowing us to create a workstation with additional monitors and an external keyboard and mouse to make complex tasks easier with additional screens.
