My Students
This year I am excited to be teaching 4th grade in a rural elementary school in Virginia. I have students from all socioeconomic backgrounds and various family situations. We also have many military families that we welcome in our school.
Many students receive reading support, math intervention, or other supports throughout the year to help them be successful in all academic areas.
I strive to give my 4th graders a safe, creative environment, and provide them with meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
The flexible seating options will provide my students with a variety of ways to work productively in a space that allows them to burn off excess energy and minimize the effects of boredom or fatigue that are a result of sitting still. The wobble stools and wobble cushions will allow students to sit at a table, but still allow movement as they complete their assignments. The lap desks will allow students a different option to work at the carpet instead of their same old boring seats! These tools could set my students up to become more engaged and successful learners.
