Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At my school, "Every student counts, and every moment matters!"
My students come to school each and every day ready to take on the world and to learn, challenging themselves to be better than they were the day before.
We set academic goals in each content area and aim not only to achieve but to surpass these goals.
This is not always easy in a lower-income neighborhood where the stress of the outside world can permeate into the classroom environment, where 100% of students receive free lunch and where Title I resources are cut due to dwindling budgets, but poverty is not an obstacle that my students let get in their way.
They aim for the highest standards of achievement! Their motivation, focus, and drive are awe-inspiring.
My Project
With the COVID-19 pandemic, students are having to rely heavily on their Chromebooks. My students have worked really hard learning how to use the computer and all the features and apps that the computer has. The thing that my students get frustrated with is using the touchpad. This can be especially difficult if they are having to scroll or drag and drop. We use these features quite to bit on the computer to make learning interactive. I would love to give my students a mouse to make learning a little easier in a year where things have been more difficult than usual!
