Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a group of 26 first graders. Most of them are hispanic, since I have the ESOL friendly classroom. They come from a low income and challenging environment, but they love school and are eager to learn.
My kids are fun and caring and enjoy coming to school everyday.
In our classroom we do many activities that promote learning. Some of them are hands on (a lot of cutting, pasting, creating) We do a lot of writing and sharing. Technology is also available. They love it!
I believe that they deserve the same opportunity to succeed as any other kid in our country (no matter where they come from)
My Project
Our first grade class is eager to learn to write sentences and paragraphs. They are learning letters and sounds. They are learning how to put those letters together to write words and eventually sentences. This is an important part of their development. With the right tools, they will be successful in their goal to become better writers.
The white boards and markers as well as the clear covers will help them practice writing.
This will facilitate brainstorming, boost productivity, allow for quick assessment, and will make learning fun.
The crayons, pencils, and glue are also necessary tools that will allow them to improve their writing skills in a creative way.
