My Students

I have 55 sixth graders this year. My classroom is a Chinese immersion classroom. My students started learning Chinese from the first grade. They spend half a day studying literacy, science, and social studies in Chinese, and half a day studying ELA and mathematics in my partner's classroom. They are hardworking and talented. They communicate in two or more languages ​​and get strength from different cultures. They have a broad vision and a big heart. I am honored to be their teacher.

COVID-19 brought us stress.

I have received emails from parents that students felt anxiety sometimes. The pandemic last year affected their academic learning in different levels.

My Project

My teaching theory is " learning by doing" . All the supplies I needed in this project is to build a better learning environment. The ball chairs are used to release my students' stress. I am also going to build an aquarium in my classroom. Watching fish swimming is relaxing and it also copes with our science curriculum, ecosystem. The legos are used to engage my students in my creative writing class and my science class, gravity and motion. With all the other supplies, students can be more engaged in my classroom. Leaning is fun in my room!
