Help me give my students math centers like Time and Math Folder Games and manipulatives such as Geometry Light Up Center and Learn and Fold Shapes to make learn math concrete!
We are team teachers with approximately 44 students in our second-grade class. Our school is a Title I school. Many of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch and often receive snack packs on Fridays just to sustain them on the weekends. We service 23 different apartment complexes, several of which are Section 8 government housing.
Even with these challenges, our students come to school with a zest for learning.
They are motivated learners who generally have almost perfect attendance. Those light bulb moments are what make teaching so fulfilling.
My Project
Soon we will start our Geometry Unit and the Geometry Light Up Activity Set and Fold and Learn Geometric Shapes will help students understand 2D and 3D shapes and how they are everywhere in our environment. The Pattern Block Design Cards will allow my 2nd graders to see shapes in everything they look at.
I am looking to upgrade my math stations and manipulatives to allow for more concrete learning.
Geometry, Time and Measuring are all hands on concepts. The How Tall Am I game and Time and Measurement Folder Set, as well as all of the Geometry manipulatives, will create the concrete learning that my students are in need of.
