My Students
My scholars are all college bound! Despite being from a tough zip code they are resilient, hard working, and future leaders! My school is located in the heart of Pleasant Grove in Dallas, TX. As their teacher I see education as the great equalizer, and know that with the right resources all of my students can succeed in and outside the classroom. We are not only working hard to learn how to read and do math, but we are working hard at becoming caring and kind adults.
My Project
A MAKERSPACE cart inside my classroom will give my students an opportunity to use their imaginations to express themselves through creative projects. A MAKERSPACE cart is a cart that's filled with supplies for students to make stuff without teacher's input, like arts and crafts, as well as building materials to construct and build things.
I teach in a school that serves students who often do not get the opportunity to CREATE inside and outside of school due to lack of materials.
This cart along with the supplies requested will enhance the development and thinking skills of all of my scholars. The cart will get a lot of use, we have time blocked out each week to actually make stuff!
