Our world is changing at a rapid pace and our students need the latest technology to be able to keep up in the world. With a MakerBot 3D printer, our students have a chance to learn on the latest thing.
I teach fifteen uniquely challenging students who come from several different walks of life.
They love technology and love the idea of getting to create things, especially when it involves using any type of technology.
My students don't get a lot of opportunities to explore the worlds of science or socials studies because of their unique needs, but when they do, they love the hands-on activities. By getting the MakerBot 3D printer, my students will be able to have a better understanding of the science and math they are learning, and they will be able to apply it.
My Project
With the MakerBot 3D printer, my students will be able to engage in STEM related activities that would not have been possible. I plan to share this printer with the ELP teacher at my school as to not limit the amount of learning that can be done with it.
Being able to make different objects will give all our students a better understanding of the world around them. Students will be able to use the knowledge learned from our math curriculum in the Logo Paths game and apply it to the cookie cutter application within the MakerBot program. Students will also be able to engineer their own 3D shapes as we learn about geometry. This will allow students to see how 3D objects fit together to make a new object.
My students come from all different walks of life, and as their teacher it is my responsibility to prepare them for our future!
By having the MakerBot 3D printer, our students will be prepared for 21st century skills they might not otherwise have access to.
