Mrs. Heidi Hadley from Norfolk VA is requesting reading nooks, desks & storage through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need bright and clean classroom carpets to engage in interactive learning and practice positive social interactions.

The students in our school come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. They represent many different cultures, lifestyles, family structures, and religions. Many students live well below the federal poverty guide line and read below grade level. Despite these challenges our students come to school with an appetite to learn. They enjoy hands-on activities to help them better understand what is being taught and why. As one of their teachers, I try my best to make every lesson as hands-on and interactive as possible to keep them engaged and wanting to learn.
Every student in our school receives free lunch, breakfast, and dinner.
Our school is located across the street from income-based housing. The majority of students walk home or are bused nearby.
My school is an older building that is Title I. Even though we are Title I and fully accredited this year, public school funding continues to dwindle year after year. We deeply appreciate any help you give us.
During morning meeting, students greet each other, share, engage in a group activity, and read a morning message from the teacher. My students love to work at places other than just at their desk. The students love to be able to sit on comfy rugs and pillows to do their work.
The rugs we have now are so old, dirty, and tattered.
By having these requested Multi Glow Blocks Seating Carpet and Welcome Mat, the students will feel engaged in interactive learning and be able to feel more comfortable to share during our morning meeting. Any time the students gather on the classroom carpet for a whole group or small group activity, the students are continuously building classroom community. They use our district shared values of justice, integrity, and fun! Sitting, sprawling, posing or perching, while completing class activities will be made more comfortable with the addition of these classroom carpets!
