I have the pleasure of working with a wonderful group of first graders and their families. They were amazing while I got to work with them in the classroom, and they are continuing to shine now that we are all working from home.
These students and their families have risen and succeeded at the challenge of today's education.
I want my students' at home learning to be successful, but this is impossible because of technological interruptions. Six and seven year old learners are eager! They amazed me everyday when they entered the classroom with giggles and smiles, ready and eager to learn. Their success increases when they are engaged and their minds are processing. I love seeing my students engage, explore, process, and the concepts 'clicks!' They work together to share their knowledge.
My Project
My current MacBook has served its purpose for close to a decade, but it is not able to meet the needs, most importantly of my students to make them successful learners, and myself as their educator. The demands of the current educational platform are so challenging.
A consistent computer that eliminates interruptions in my students' lessons is more important than ever.
With a new computer, my students and I will be able to communicate more effectively during real time math and language lessons through online platforms. Funding of this project will also allow interactive experiences like museum tours and virtual field trips. Students will benefit from being able to see writing and math lessons in real time. They will also benefit from instant and direct feedback.
