A Mac For Kindergarten Class!
My students need an iPad for a class learning station!
Do you remember working on an Apple IIE computer? As a student, I was energized and inspired by this technology! Technology has certainly changed and it is amazing! As a teacher, I would love to engage and inspire my little learners by integrating new technology into all aspects of learning!
Many of my students are impoverished.
Over 90% of my class receives free or reduced breakfast and lunch. Over 90% of the students in my class are also second language learners. Our school site is actively involved in a Gang Response and Intervention Program. Despite these challenges, our students are also bright, happy kids who love coming to school and are eager to learn! Few, if any, of my students have access to a computer or iPad at home.
A classroom iPad will enable me to utilize many of the excellent educational apps that are available. My goal is to have a learning center dedicated to small student groups working on iPads practicing skills, authoring stories and learning by doing! In addition, I will be able to share classroom photos, student projects and portfolio work highlighting students progress.
Even though many of my students are poor, they deserve a classroom learning environment that is rich with technology!
An iPad would help me bring lessons to life in our kindergarten classroom!
