Help me give my students a love of art! We are looking to add to our art center with the use of different colors of tempera paint, spangles and sequins and construction paper.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is located in the Dallas area, and we serve amazing scholars in the community. Our building is very diverse, and we have a high population of students in poverty and we strive to help create loving relationships that will help them learn and grow!
My classroom is full of joy and energy and 22 loving 4 years old are ready to learn!
We focus our time on learning through play. The students in my classroom come from low socio-economic homes, and/or may be learning English as a second language. For many of my students, this will be their first time in school.
My classroom is unique because we are one of two FULL day Pre-K programs in our district! We will be working our minds and bodies every day from 8:00 am-4:00 pm. We are excited to play, learn, explore, connect, and grow!
My Project
In our Pre-K classroom we spend 2 hours daily in Free Choice. During this time students get to pick where they spend their time. We are looking to add new materials in our art center to allow friends to create and explore using different materials! We have had the chance to paint with many different objects like feathers, brushes, toothbrushes, and fingers. We want to replenish our supply with more paper and paint! With the use of the tempera paint we can try and paint with both paint brushes and other real world objects. When we will use the construction paper daily to build and create! Students love to add sequins and spangles to any piece of artwork to give it that WOW factor!
My students love the freedom to create using different materials.
The materials in this project will be placed for easy access to students to create their next masterpiece! I love watching what the students create and the process they follow when they start their projects!
