Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
3rd graders will fill the classroom with different personalities, learning styles, and backgrounds. Each student brining a special talent to share with others. All of them excited and eager to learn. They will learn complex mathematical skills, read and comprehend literature, and we can't forget life skills like using appropriate manners, disagreeing appropriately and of course embracing differences.
My third grade students are dedicated learners seeking opportunities to grow.
They come from neighborhoods similar to where I grew up. I understand the needs that goes beyond our classroom. These projects help us educate the entire child.
My Project
My goal is to expose my students to various authors and genres of literature to help students find a love for reading. I will do this by building a classroom library that students can utilize for independent reading in class and homework assignments.
My passion and love for reading came after being exposed to the Harry Potter series, which I am currently reading with my students in our morning read-aloud.
I believe that by having a classroom library with various genres and authors I can create a love and passion for reading that will help student's become life long learners.
