My Students

95% of students in my class are English Language Learners. 40% of my students receive special education services. Needless to say, my students are all working at different ability levels. There is no one-size-fits-all approach in my classroom; I spend a lot of time differentiating activities and use various teaching methods so that all learners can be successful.

Technology has been a key factor in helping me meet the needs of all learners in my classroom.

There are so many educational apps and websites available that provide students with the practice they need for reading and math skills. These apps and websites are engaging and make learning fun!

My Project

Currently my students use outdated desktop computers that require students to log in and navigate the internet to get to ebooks or academic apps. It is a time consuming process for students to use the computer and usually requires the assistance of an adult. With these tablets, students will be able to access online books and apps easily and quickly. Instead of taking 3 steps to get to a website or app, students will now be able to access apps with just one step. Additionally, students will be able to work at their own academic level in their own space. Having tablets will allow for flexible seating.
