Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school saying is, "Better today than yesterday! Better tomorrow than today!" I want to make their tomorrow better!
My class consists of a diverse group of learners.
My class has 26 second grade students of varying abilities. The socio-economic background of our students is reflected by our 97% free or reduced-price lunch rate.
I teach in an urban inner city school rich with diversity. Most of my students need additional learning materials to meet grade level expectations. Please help me to make tomorrow better for them!
My Project
My students are eager and energetic learners. They come to school daily excited to learn new things. Having Privacy Screens, Time Timers, Ziploc Bags, and Superhero Storage Boxes would really help with classroom management and organization. My students enjoy working and learning with each other. Sometimes we need to work alone or just show what WE know. Being able to have Privacy Screens available for students who may need to work alone to avoid distractions or simply need to be separated from their peers to take an assessment to show what they know would help.
Some students need their own learning space in the classroom.
Group time is great for many tasks but individual learning time and assessment is also very important to a child's overall learning and growth. Having Time Timers and Pack of 6 Timers will allow me to structure work areas for my students and help to keep them on task! Telling students they have 15 minutes to complete a task is enough for some learners. But others need a visual to help keep them to task. Having a visual timer that will let them know they only have 5 minutes left will help to keep students on task in all disciplines throughout our day.
Classroom Slots is a wonderful organizational tool to keep students from losing and misplacing work in the classroom. Having a clipboard with unfinished work and finished work in each slot for each child will allow them a place to keep themselves organized and accountable for their learning.
Having these materials in our classroom will help with classroom management and organization. These items will help my students to focus on the work and learning more efficiently. I appreciate your help with our Privacy Please Project to help all of my learners maximize learning!
