Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kindergarten students are a vibrant group of young learners who represent cultures from all around the globe. We learn, play, and grow together in a very special school that includes 38 different languages! My students share a neighborhood but have unique histories that brought them together in our classroom.
I work with a group of very diverse learners who entered kindergarten with a variety of strengths, experiences, talents, stories, family structures, and challenges.
However, for all of them, I have the same goal; that is to love school and to feel excited about learning!
My Project
Kindergarten is one of the first places that kids learn to love books. My students engage in a lot of important learning and go on many exciting adventures in our baskets and baskets of books.
Our classroom library is the heart of our classroom, and some of our very best friends live there.
We have loved our library into some disrepair, and it is time to replace our old bookshelves.
Every single day, 25 curious little minds and 25 sets of eager little hands dive into our library looking for dinosaurs, astronauts, princesses, and bugs. Now we just need a little sturdier of a place to keep them.
