A Little Learning is a Dangerous Thing...

My Students

Do you remember what it was like the first time you read a book that you couldn't put down? My students have discovered the love of reading, but need some help branching out from the standard, vapid fantasy and romance novels they so love.

Our school is a fantastic, nurturing middle school, serving almost 500 students.

We have an abundance of caring adults, but very few literary resources. Our school district provides us with very few options for reading; class sets of novels are dated and irrelevant.

My Project

These kids need books: books that inspire them, devastate them, and give them a glimpse of the world outside of America. They need to understand global conflicts and invest in them; literature is a perfect way to provide them access to the tumult and excitement that exists in the world outside of their personal bubbles. With the novels you help us purchase, we will accompany a young German girl as she tries to maintain her integrity and still survive in Nazi Germany, we will sit by his side, as a young boy travels to a world beyond his wildest dreams, and we will explore space with Ray Bradbury.

Please support our project!

I know if you are on this website, you feel as passionately about quality education as I do. Reading truly is the key to another world; please give our class the key to unlock the door!
