Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a Title I school where over 90% of them receive free and reduced-price lunch. They have not let this stop their achievement or insatiable curiosity.
In fact, our school was in the top 25% of growth in our very large district!
However, to continue this growth we need to continuously look for ways to spark their thinking, feed their curiosity and provide opportunities for them to have productive struggle to develop resilience to complete difficult tasks.
My Project
We have just received an amazing curriculum for STEM that includes many kits to push critical thinking and problem solving through real world problems. The problem? Where to put all this great stuff.
Many of the pieces that the children use to construct their understanding of simple machines and robotics have many, many small pieces that need to be organized for optimal use.
This Seville Classics Bin Storage Unit will help us keep the small parts separate and organized, thereby easier to find, easier to use and easier to build with. It will also increase responsibility as children will be required to put the pieces back in the correct location.
