Help me give my students an organized, functional, and cozy classroom. I teach students in groups at an elbow table because of their varied academic levels. The steel file cart would allow me to organize materials.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is located in a large urban city. It is a small school of about 500 students. About 85% of students received free or reduced price lunch.
Our school is a Title 1 school and it is very diverse.
About 60 percent of the students are African American, 30 percent of the students are Hispanic, 10 percent are Asian. About 25 percent of the population are ESOL, English for Speakers of Other Languages. We have many students who transition to about two schools each year.
My Project
These materials will benefit my classroom because they need a safe, organized, and structured classroom. The steel cabinet will be used to organize their math workbooks and worksheets. So while working in groups, students have easy access to their materials without the clutter. The disinfectant wipes keep the germs away and prevent the spread of colds that causes student absences. My students like to use and are more willing to complete classwork when using dry erase markers to write math and solve problems on their desks. After solving and completing the math problem, students will use the wipes to clean off their desks. Then, they will work on solving more problems.
