My students are creative and curious! The majority come from single parent homes, with mom or dad working an entry level position. These students come to school wanting to learn and see more about the world around them. Teaching art gives me the opportunity to show them how to express themselves and their ideas in creative ways. Through my classroom they can experiment with various art materials opening a new world of creative expression. My hopes are to encourage their creative side so much that they continue with art classes throughout their high school years.
My Project
Through this project I would like to purchase materials that my district allotted budget does not allow. I would like for my students to be able to "play" around with as many art materials as possible to ignite their creativity and imaginations.
I want to do an acrylic pour sculpture with my students and link it to science class to discuss tectonic plate movement.
We are all about collaboration at WMS! We are always in need of rulers as many people don't realize how quickly the measurements wear off the metal. One of the biggest frustrations for my students is having inadequate supplies when trying to complete a project. The brayers will be added into materials purchased with a former Project from this site. The glazes will be for ceramic projects done in the spring.
