My Students

My students are amazing! They have a love of learning and a love for each other! I would love to push them as far as they can go before they move on to kindergarten. Having them ready for Kindergarten, will give them a jump start to being a lifelong learner and someone who loves school!

My school is very diverse and it is wonderful!

There are so many different cultures, values and beliefs, it is incredible! I love spending time with the students, not just in my class, but the older kids as well; I learn a lot from them! Students as well as teachers look out for each other at school. We are all team players and have each others best interest at heart. I would love to be able to give my students everything to help them succeed inside and outside of the classroom. With these new materials, I can give them a better classroom and new experiences. Most of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and are not exposed very often to new things. I take it as my responsibility to expose them to as much as possible. Having as much knowledge about the world around you, I believe gives you the best chance to make great decisions and a great life for yourself! I believe my students have the ability to be whatever they want when they grow up!

My Project

The wiggly eyes and clothes pins are going to go in our art center for students to create art with. Our school is learning about the 7 Habits of Happy Kids. These two books about empathy goes along with habit #5 and I would love to be able to have these in our classroom library so I can share them with the students. I believe it is really important for students of any age to be a good listener and try to imagine walking in other peoples shoes and seeing things from their point of view. We have 2 playground balls for recess but with 60 kids playing together a few more balls would go a long way. I have borrowed a cube chair from a colleague and it has really helped to keep friends seated on the carpet when they need to so. For example, when we have circle time or guests coming into our room it helps to focus our friends. I would love to have a chair for our room instead of always taking my colleagues.

I am really looking forward to these new materials.

I believe they will make my classroom a better place! I think it is really important to teach kids about all different kinds of emotions with empathy being one of them. What a wonderful gift it would be for 3-5 year olds to understand other people's lives! Every donation is one step closer to bettering the lives of students all over the country. We are working to become readers and thank you so much for all of your support!
