A Little Bit History, A Little Bit Self Control

Help me give my students resources to use for their reports, plus ideas to help them better themselves through self-improvement.

My Students

Our school has a minority enrollment of about 48% of the student body. (Mostly Hispanic.) About 63% of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch. My classroom is a great mixture of various races and cultures, but they constantly look for the things which they have in common instead of their differences.

I love the students' willingness to work hard every day and learn all they can about all subjects.

It is inspiring to see in such a young group of people and it helps give me some hope in our future.

As the students work together in class, they have the opportunity to bond friendships that should remain for many years to come.

My Project

I teach World History and a class called 6th Grade Success. A lot of these books are for my history classes to use as a reference to their upcoming history reports. The rest of the books are resources that I can use to help my students grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually. Multiple copies of "7 Habits" will help us read together as a class. As my students apply the lessons taught in that book, as well as the other lessons they will learn, it will better prepare them not only for upcoming school years, but life in general.
