My students are curious, creative, inquisitive, and academically advanced students. They need opportunities to expand, grow, and experience things on their level, which can be challenging to provide in a traditional classroom setting.
My students are identified and supported as “Talented Visual Art” students and are full of creative ideas!
It is important to me and our school to provide enriching and challenging opportunities to stretch, grow, and develop their strengths, interests, and passions within their identified exceptionality. It is my goal that my students develop critical thinking skills by requiring student collaboration, critique, and self-reflection. With this strategy, it can offer personalized instruction to address the students learning style, yet at the same time, the student will understand the differences among them and learn to appreciate those differences.
My Project
My students love to draw and construct, paint and create masterpieces. Art is our favorite thing to do in the art room. To further this passion, I have committed to building a library of art reference books in the art room. I want to create and grow an art reference library so that student can seek out and learn new techniques or research and expand their knowledge of art history.
By creating this reference library, it will foster their creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
They will be able to discover what their favorite "style" of art is all while discovering their own art style.
