This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a diverse mix of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. We are a Title I school with 85% of our student population qualifying for reduced/free lunches.

My students are a creative, enthusiastic and curious group of 6th graders who are learning 21st century digital skills and need materials for our dedicated Makerspace classroom.

The students in our classes are eager to learn new skills and need the technology and supplies to practice and master the 21st century skills they will need to succeed now and in the future.

My Project

My students are learning 21st Century digital skills and are not afraid of using technology. I would like a 1:1 student to laptop ratio and have a device on every desk in my classroom so students don't always have to search for an empty computer station.

A laptop at every desk will allow my students to move around and share their ideas, assignments and projects in their groups at their tables.

Laptops give my students more accessibility to programs like the Sketchup Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs that we use in class than the Chromebooks. My students will be able to design individual ideas and immediately share these with their team members without having to wait for a computer.
