My students are a group of fun-loving fourth graders who come from low socioeconomic status families in a racially diverse community. They are eager to explore and try new things, despite them not having much opportunity to do so. Many of them are first-generation Americans and are the first in their family to aspire to go to college.
The community rallies around the students to help them succeed.
Many of my students are trying to become first-generation college students. They live in a community where English is their second language. I have students from all over Latin America and Asia. Most of my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch and it is my job to help close the achievement gap and meet their academic needs.
My students all live in a low socioeconomic area where the food on the table is not taken for granted. I want to ensure that my students are well fed so that they can be well focused. Academic success relies on students being nutritionally well rounded.
My students would benefit greatly from healthy snacks to maintain their nutritional needs.
The snacks such as the nuts, fruit snacks, and granola bars will be given to students throughout the day and at the end of the day when they go home to avoid them being hungry and losing focus during their homework completion at home. Please help me on my quest to make sure my students are nutritionally and academically ready to succeed.
