Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at the school are one-of-a-kind. They love school just as much as the next child. The one thing that many of the students look forward to is coming to school as a way to escape reality for a little while. My students come from a low, socio-economic status, the inner-city, and struggle with reading, math and social skills. I need to do all I can, during school hours, to help these students progress to well-developed, smart young men and women who can function effectively in the world we live in today. To effectively teach students in a wide range of levels, I need many resources. Help me bring in the necessary materials to help my students succeed in school.
The majority of the students at the school come from low-economic households.
Students and parents do not have the financial means to provide essentials and we need to help students achieve greatness.
My Project
This project is one of a kind. We are asking for items to help create a kitchen in one of the classrooms at our school. The students in our self-contained autistic classroom want to learn life skills such as cooking.
Having items like grills, mixers, tables and mixing bowls will help the students learn a life skill such as cooking.
This skill will allow the students in my classroom to become more independent in life. Our goal is to give these students a sense of independence for later on in life.
Cooking things like cookies, pancakes, pasta, cakes, fries, and other items will help kick start their love for cooking.
