As the music teacher, I teach every student in my small-town school; 550 students come through my door every week. They are smart, inquisitive, insightful, and oh-so funny! They constantly make me laugh!
My students need to learn and explore the world around them by moving, dancing, playing, and creating!
Providing the supplies my students need to succeed is so important as the majority of students in our school district come from low-income households and many cannot bring supplies from home. The average income in our district is $19,000 a year. All of our students receive free breakfast daily, and many receive free lunch as well. Budgets for supplies are incredibly limited, so we are fortunate to have donors like you who help us meet the students' needs!
My littlest students needs some instruments to begin their adventures in to the creative way of playing known as Orff!
Using the alto xylophone and sandblocks in this project, my students will be able to sing, play, and create magical musical performance.
The Orff method of teaching emphasizes creativity, and my little musicians are ready to create! They will use these instruments to create musical performances to their in class literature. They will sing songs and play along as the play singing and dancing games. They will create soundscapes and musically accompany their favorite books! These instruments will allow us new and wonderful ways of being creative!
