This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am teaching Spanish as a Second Language for students from second to fifth grade. At this time my second/ third grade combination class is making a project to make a performance in Spanish for a big audience. They have different levels of Spanish, and are demonstrating their love for learning a foreign language.

To encourage my students to continue learning a foreign language they are developing a project about the animals and will perform in a showcase in front of their parents and relatives .

I feel very enthusiastic for helping my students to do a wonderful performance that will bring joy, especially now that the new normality is in place.

My Project

My students are learning in my Spanish class about the animals names, their habitats, their onomatopoeic, species in danger, the lyrics and a choreography of a song that will be the last component in the project. We are very excited for this project and voluntarily come earlier to school to rehearse. This project involves students from second and third grade, with different levels of Spanish and different economic status, but with the common objective of making a great impact in the show.

By having animal masks, my students will have the same opportunity regardless their socio-economical status in participating on a great show that will consolidate what have they leaned about a the animals.

We are counting the days to make this memorable experience a reality.
