Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My bilingual first-grade students are full of joy and are eager to learn. Our classroom is a place of daily growth, constant challenge and discovery. My students will spend this year learning the foundations of reading, writing and math in order to succeed in their lives. They are quickly becoming independent learners. They are taking the information they have learned and applying it to multiple activities that allow them to use their imaginations and their own high level of thinking skills. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.

My Project

My students are always eager to learn and they love to read. This double sided shelf book will help them master the necessary organizational skills to gather and store books on their own. My students need a storage cart, book bins, and mentor texts. By having this cart, they will learn the importance of keeping our classroom organized so that everyone can have easy access to our reading materials. I strongly believe that I should not only teach my kids academics but also the organizational skills that will help them become successful life long learners. My students need a double-sided shelf that will help us straighten out our mentor texts and our library so that we can create an engaging and inviting learning environment.
